Compact heated sample conditioning for real-time natural gas analyzer protection.
The Welker SCHS-3 is a compact multi-stage heated pressure and temperature conditioning system designed to protect natural gas analyzers from free liquids, condensate, and phase change before analysis. Built for gas analytical systems in pipelines and laboratories, the SCHS-3 combines a pitot-style probe, liquid coalescer, filtration barrier, low internal gas volume, multi-stage heating and regulation, and sample outlet pressure and temperature indication to support real-time natural gas sampling. By reducing stagnant inlet gas, condensate flashing, cooling from pressure drop, and supply pressure effect, the SCHS-3 helps maintain consistent outlet pressure while protecting gas chromatographs and analyzers from costly liquid damage.
Natural Gas Analyzer Protection
Upstream of an analyzer to protect gas chromatographs and analytical equipment from free liquids in natural gas sampling systems.
Natural Gas Pipelines
Pipeline-mounted sample conditioning where pressure, temperature, and liquid protection are needed for real-time gas analysis.
Laboratories
Lab-based gas analytical systems requiring compact heated conditioning before analyzer entry.
Resources
Pitot-Style Probe Design
Self-generates sample flow to reduce stagnant inlet gas and improve real-time natural gas sampling.
Liquid Coalescer and Filtration Barrier
Helps remove free liquids and contaminants while reducing liquid barrier saturation before the sample reaches the analyzer.
Low Internal Gas Volume
Reduces sample lag time to support faster, more responsive online gas analysis.
Multi-Stage Heating and Regulation
Maintains inlet gas temperature, reduces phase change, limits condensate flashing, and helps reduce cooling caused by pressure drop.
Sample Gas Outlet Pressure and Temperature Indicators
Provides quick visibility into outlet conditions so operators can confirm the sample is properly conditioned before analyzer entry.
Optional Liquid Shutoff Valve
Provides emergency shutoff prior to the analyzer when liquid is detected, helping prevent costly analyzer damage.
Compact Footprint
Supports easier installation in analyzer shelters, laboratories, and space-constrained gas sampling systems.
