Why Odorization Matters

Readily Detectable. Every Hour. Every Season.

Natural gas has no smell. Odorization is what lets the public detect a leak long before it becomes dangerous — and federal regulations require gas to be readily detectable at one-fifth of its lower explosive limit. That makes your odorizer one of the most important safety devices in your natural gas operations.

At Welker, we understand the responsibility behind every odorization system we build. Our solutions are engineered for reliable, consistent operation, helping operators protect communities, support public safety, and keep natural gas detectable through changing demands and conditions.

Proportional-to-Flow Accuracy

The controller watches gas flow continuously and corrects the injection rate automatically.

Verification, Not Assumption

Smart systems confirm odorization is actually taking place — and alarm if it isn't.

No Extra Software

Welker's program runs on an intuitive touchscreen controller, with Modbus for control-room monitoring.

The OdorEyes Difference

Reliable Systems. Even More Reliable People.

Odorization can't take a day off, so neither do our standards. Redundancy is designed in — and when you call, you reach a team that knows your system.

Redundancy, Standard

ECOsystem™ models use redundant solenoids. Accu/Line™ models use redundant odorant pumps. Continuous operation is the default.

Self-Monitoring Controls

Real-time monitoring adjusts to flow changes and raises digital alerts, on-site or remotely.

Fewer Moving Parts

Pumpless designs remove the most common wear point, so there is simply less to fail and less to maintain.

Support That Picks Up

A dedicated Service department for installation, operation, and maintenance — from startup through the life of the system.

ECOsystem™ · Zero Emissions

ECOsystem™ · Built for the Environment & the Technician

Zero Emissions. Zero Pumps. Zero Hassle.

The ECOsystem™ conditions unodorized upstream gas and uses it as the blanket pressure for the odorant tank — so no gas is vented to atmosphere during normal operation.

Odor-Free Maintenance

Every serviceable component sits upstream of the odorant supply tank. In the rare event maintenance is needed, technicians never handle parts that have touched mercaptan.

No methane released during normal operation

High turndown for seasonal and demand swings

Low-wattage solenoids, minimal annual maintenance

Helps you reach emissions-reduction targets

How We Work

From First Call to Fifteen Years In

One team owns your system from sizing through service. No hand-offs, no finger-pointing.

01

Size & Specify

We review flow, pressure, odorant, power, and site conditions to recommend the right system.

02

Engineer & Build

Injection, controls, tank, and packaging are designed and manufactured by Welker.

03

Test & Start Up

Systems are tested before they ship, then commissioned with your team on site.

04

Support for Life

FAQ

Common Questions

What does "turnkey" inclulde?

The injection system, controller, odorant tank, and packaging, engineered together and tested by Welker before shipment — plus startup support and service after.

How does the ECOsystem™ achieve zero emissions?

It conditions unodorized upstream gas and meters it with solenoids to blanket the odorant tank, so no gas is emitted to atmosphere during normal operation.

Will my technicians handle odorant during maintenance?

Not with the ECOsystem™. All serviceable components are upstream of the odorant supply tank, so maintenance is odorant-free.

Vapor or liquid injection — which do I need?

It depends on your flow range, pressure differential, and verification needs. Use the System Finder above, then talk with our team to confirm.
