Fixed insertion probe regulation for representative natural gas analyzer samples
The Welker IRD-4 Probe Regulator is a fixed insertion pressure-regulating sample probe designed to deliver representative natural gas samples to online analyzers at the proper pressure. Mounted directly to a hot tap or mating flange on a depressurized pipeline, the IRD-4 extracts gas from the center one-third of the source stream for real-time analysis. With a pressure-regulating probe tip, thermal fins, low internal volume, multiple pressure control ranges, and optional spring range kit, the IRD-4 helps reduce lag time, mitigate Joule-Thomson cooling, prevent sample condensation, and protect downstream analytical devices.
Natural Gas Analyzer Sampling
Upstream of an analyzer as a standalone pressure control device or part of a sample conditioning system.
Pipelines With Full Port Isolation Valves
Designed for natural gas pipelines with a full port isolation valve where manual insertion, retraction, and maintenance may be needed,
Complies With:
Resources
Fixed Insertion Length
Helps collect representative samples from the center one-third of the pipeline.
Pressure-Regulating Probe Tip With Thermal Exchange Fins
Places the regulation point in the pipeline and helps mitigate Joule-Thomson cooling and sample condensation.
Small Internal Volume
Reduces lag time to support real-time sample analysis.
Multiple Pressure Control Ranges
Adapts to the pressure requirements of different downstream analyzers.
Optional Welker Spring Range Kit
Allows operators to change the pressure control range for different applications or downstream devices.
