Welker IRM Manual Insertion Probe Regulator

IRM

Manual insertion and pressure regulation for real-time natural gas analyzer sampling

The Welker IRM Manual Insertion Probe Regulator delivers a continuous representative natural gas sample to an analyzer at the proper pressure for real-time analysis of high-volume pipelines. Designed for installation upstream of an analyzer as a standalone pressure control device or part of a conditioning system, the IRM features adjustable insertion length, a pressure-regulating probe tip with thermal exchange fins, small internal volume, diaphragm regulation, and insertability up to 450 psig. By regulating pressure at the pipeline and helping mitigate Joule-Thomson cooling, the IRM supports reduced lag time, sample integrity, and analyzer protection.

Where to Use

Natural Gas Analyzer Sampling

Upstream of an analyzer as a standalone pressure control device or part of a sample conditioning system.

Pipelines With Full Port Isolation Valves

Designed for natural gas pipelines with a full port isolation valve where manual insertion, retraction, and maintenance may be needed,

Complies With:

API 14.1 GPA 2166 ISO 10715

Adjustable Insertion Length

Helps collect representative samples from the center one-third of the pipeline.

Pressure-Regulating Probe Tip With Thermal Exchange Fins

Places the regulation point in the pipeline and helps mitigate Joule-Thomson cooling and sample condensation.

Small Internal Volume

Reduces lag time to support real-time sample analysis.

Diaphragm Regulator

Provides precise pressure adjustments to help protect sensitive analytical devices.

Insertable Up to 450 psig

Supports manual probe insertion without requiring a separate insertion tool.

Retractable Shaft

Allows pipeline pigging, inspection, or equipment maintenance without costly shutdowns.

Optional Welker Spring Range Kit

Allows operators to change the pressure control range for different applications or downstream analyzers.
